MASONIC GRAND LODGE.
NEXT WEEK'S BUSINESS. The inability of his Excellency to attend the Grand Lodge Communication of New Zealand Freemasons has disturbed arrangements only so far as his installation is concerned. The Pro. Grand Master (M.W. Bro. Geo. Russell) will preside over the business meeting convened for Wednesday, 30th inst., at 10 a.m., and which will be continued during the afternoon, when it is exoected all remits will be dealt with, failing which business will be resumed on Thursday morning. On Wednesday evening the investiture of Grand Lodge officers will take place in the Caledonian Hall. The limited seating capacity of the hall is deplored, as most of the space will be required for members of Grand Lodge, but there will be at least 400 seats available for Master Masons, and arrangements are being made as to the disposal of these, which will be advertised in Saturday's papers. The arrangements previously made for Thursday, December Ist, have been modified—the only function definitely fixed is a motor drive in the afternoon via the Riccarton racecourse, where afternoon tea will be served at 3.30 o'clock. . The Avon Lodge is holding a social evening for the benefit of visitors on the Thursday evening. The wives of the visiting brethren will be entertained by a Ladies' Committee whilst business is in progress. It is expected that the attendance this year will be quite equal to that ol previous yearn.
