A. AND P. SHOW.
BANKS PENINSULA. The eighteenth annual show of the aoove A,deviation was held yesterday on the picI ■...rcsquo Awa Iti Domain at Little- River. As usual the attendance of visitors from all over the Peninsula and Ellesrnere and intermediate districts was very large, Cbnstchureu 3lso contributing considerably. Tbo country is now looking at its best, and the jniirncv to the River under the pleasant conditions' prevailing in tho forenoon, was much enjoved. Just before the concluding competitions, heavy clouds gathered. aud a. thunderstorm threatened, but it pasead o!i with a few drop*. The gate ta-kiiu,'9 amounted to XIBO 7s 3d, aa ogamnsl i-'JI last year, but the actual attendance did notreflect this difference. The show is noted as a rule tor lis_ excellent displav of light horses, and it did not differ "in this respect yesterday. A "ood clsbs was shown in practically all the sections, and entries in quite a number of instances exceeded the dozen. JNaturallv competition was keen. The champion hacknev, A. V. Joblin's Molyneaux, scored a. series of successes in this section. Pomps also drew notable competition, entries in on- or two of the classes exceeding single ti-ures. The draught section was disapi.ointin- in numbers, though a few good iicrscß were paraded, but- the two military classes evoked keen competition. The purebred sheep classes were clisaopoinlintr in tlm matter of numbers, border Leicester and Komneys failing to draw entries, English Leicester and R.Vt; 1 ™" 8 cr.lv one competitor in each, and bouludowns two. However, the crossbred section attracted spirited competition, A\. R. Mont- ■ •o,nci7 and the Kinloch Estate scoring most of the awards. Competition was also -ood in the fat sheep classes, \\. H. Montgomery and T. 10. Stanbury annexing most of the prizes. Purebred cattle were forward m small numbers, but quality represented sonic of the. best show cattle of this end of the province. Jerseys and Friesians were worthy of note. The dairy cattle class drew ten . entries, representing all the breeds, and the champion cow of the clasa was singled out in .1 R. White's exhibit. Numerically, us well as in quality, the crossbred dairy seetion is general!v about the best at the show and the half-down classes attracted keen competition between E A Patten, J K White, and F. W. Crockett. _ The non-stock sections striking display, notably the flower exhibition, which would be hard to beat anywhere in such an unsuitable season. Domestic produce was also another outstanding section. The competitions were of an average character. The jumping was not so finished as usual, some of the horses obviously not having receiving much schooling. However, the show was well above the average function of its kind, and was well managed .by thi executive. The awards were ns follows: SHEEr. (Judges: Stud and crossbred, Mr W. Cunningham; fat, Mr F.
