Sir,—The letter of "No Pledges" in this morning's paper is, to my mind, straight to the point, and on this question of pledges it behoves the people of New Zealaud to wake up. It -ill b a sorry thing for this country if we are to be governed by these different Alliances and Leagues who mostly work behind the people's backs, _ and are composed of the most narrow-minded of men.
