HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT.
{special to the WELLINGTON', November 21. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated November 13th, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: — HEMP. Manila —Lower grades are steady, with small sales of "J" gTade November-January and January-March shipments at ±'4l, principally "bears'*, covering. The trade demand is small. The sisal market is quiet. The value of No. 1 November-January shipment is £36 to X3G ss. The New Zealand market is easier. Jloro is offering, and consumers are holding off. Closing values are: High points £34. lair £32, and common £3l 10s. Stocks in London ou October 31st were S3 tons, against 21 tons at the same time last year. TALLOW. The spot market is quiet and prices ftio the same as last quotatiou. WOOL. Bradford tops are dearer, in consequence of a rise in raw material. Present quotations are: 134's (merino) warp 4s 4d to 4s 5d per lb,, average 4s 3d to 4s 4d per lb; 56's (super halfbred), 3s 3d per lb; 50's (halfbred), 2s ohd per lb; 40's prepared, Is lid per lb. DAIRY PRODUCE. Messrs A. H. Turnbull and Co. are in receipt of the following cablegram from their principals, W. Weddel and Co., Ltd., dated London, 18th inst.:— Butter-Danish, 208s to 210s Oast week 196s to 200s); New Zealand unsalted, ISSa to "l9os (184s to 188s); New Zealand salted, 172s to 180s (172s to 1765); market steady. Cheese-White and coloured, 97a to 100s (93e ttf 100s); market steady. New Zealand chee'se, white and coloured old seasons 103s to 101s. Canadian cheese, white and co - oured, 102 a to 106s (last week 100s to 103 a).
