LIFE-SAVING.
NORTH BEACH SUFiF CLUB. A meeting of the North Beach Surf Club was held in the Surf Pavilion, when there were present:—Messrs A. Dalton, club captain (in the chair), J. Breward (secretary), W. Smith, A. Brand, A. Harvey, F. J. L. Scott, D. Wilson. Correspondence was received from Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P., accepting the position of patron of the club and expressing appreciation of the work done by the club. The following new members were elected:—Messrs Owen Tregear, Ross Floyd, W. G. Wood, J. A. Brown, 3. McLachlan, A. E. Galletly, K. G. Kearney, N. Neylan, J. F. Eames, Mrs J. A. Brown, Misses Lola Cos, Freda Edwards, Jessie Coe. The conditions for the Ward Cup competition were discussed. The following persons are to be asked to act as officials for the competition:—Judges, Messrs T. Hall and W. Smith; time-keepers, Messrs Dalton, sen., and C. H. Piper; referee, Mr Claud Cooper. Mr Dudley Wilson reported that the matter of drawing up the conditions governing the new Black and White Cup competition would be considered at the next meeting of the Surf Association so it was decided to recommend the club's delegates to support the proposal that the competition be an interclub surf relay race, to consist of a swim round tho buoy and back.
