ENGLISH PARK STADIUM.

TO-NIGHT'S SPORTS. To-night, at English Park Stadium, the North Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union will stage a programme of sports of more than usual interest. The feature wifl be the motor-paced cycle race of three miles, in which the following will take part: Willie Mackia (scratch), J. Bearman (lOOydB), J. Henderson (150 yds), C. Austin (225yd5),. W. T. Weir (250 yds), E. Condon (325 yds). The riders of the motor-cycles are: Eddie Marra, W. J. (Fritz) Holland., and Len Scuffle. Two heats will be run, and the winner of each heat and the second man to finish in the fastest heat will start in the final. Judging by the large crowd which assembles at the Stadium to watch the training operations, great interest is being evinced in the racing, and a record attendance is anticipated. In addition to the motor-paced race, the programme consists of a two miles scratch race, tandem paced, in which all the first-class men will participate, including W. Mackie, J. Boarman, J. Henderson, C. Bright, S. A. Jordan, C. Austin, W. T. Weir, Bnd several other star riders. A half and one. mile open handicap races are also included. George Getson, the brilliant long-distance runner, will chase a field of sixteen in the half-mile flat handicap. The programme is a particularly bright one, and there will not bo a dull moment from start to finish. The sports start at eight o'clock, and special trams will run from Cathedral square at frequent intervals.
