ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

Yesterday morning Messrs R. English (president), P. L. Davies (vice-president), W. G. Ives (school's selector), and R. B. Bunt (secretary), of the Canterbury Football Association, visited the following schools, where they presented the various trophies won throughout the season:—Marist school, the Ramsay Cup, junior schools' cup (Mrs J. J. Hurley), junior schools' six-aside medals, and the sixth-grade knock-out competition trophy; Tocbnical College, sixth grade league championship Bhield and N.Z. schoolboys' rep. cap to J. Nelligan; Spreydon, primary schools' light-weight siz-a-side medals; and Addington Convent school, primary schools' light-weight grade competition trophy (Mr R. E. MeDougall's Cup). Great enthusiasm was ■ shown at all the schools, and every visit terminated with cheeera for the winning teams and for the C.P.A. officials. Advice has been received from the N.Z.F.A. that the Thistle Club's appeal in connexion with the local Association's decision concerning the replay of the club'a Humphrey's Cup match has been dismissed. The New Zealand Council based their verdict on Rule 2 of the rules governing the various competitions, which gives the local Association sole and absolute control.
