At the Newcastle Stadium, Jack Paul (10st 21b) defeated Diok French (9ut 12lb) on a technical knock-out in the sixth round of a fifteen rounds contest. Paul had the better of matters from the commencement and dealt severe punishment to French. The latter was in such a bad way at the commencement of the sixth that his seconds skied the towel.
