Proposals framed by the Board of Trade for the revision of the International Convention of 1914 on the safety of life at sea are being forwarded to the Dominions and the foreign countries who were signatories for comment. It is hoped that the replies by the end of March will indicate whether thev are favourable to a meeting in London in the autumn of 1928 for the purpose of amending the Convention. The Board of Trade's proposals relate to life saving, wireless, fire extinguishing, ice patrols, and collision regulations.
