RICHMOND SCHOOL.
The Richmond School Committee met on Wednesday evening, there being present: Messrs J. Stuart (chairman). Clausen. Cornelius, Dickson, Frascr. Petrie, Sheppard, and W. H. Simpson (secretary). The inspector's report was received and proved most satisfactory, and the secretary was directed to write the headmaster congratulating him and his staff on the excellent report received. Tha headmaster reported that the average roll for October was 607, and the average attendance was 564. For three weeks the average was 575, but last week's average was only 531 owing to sickness. The caretaker reported that the grounds were in very good order, and the hard work the committee had done was a big benefit to the scholars. After much discussion it was decided to hold the annual picnic on Saturday, November 26th, at Riccarton racecourse. It was decided that a sub-committee consisting of the chairman, treasurer, headmaster, and secretary be eleeted to make arrangementa.
