FIRES.
HOMESTEAD DESTROYED. (PEE3S ASSOCIATION TELEGEAM.) FEILDJNG, November 16. The ten-roomed residence of R. I'. Kilgour, at Kiwitea, was completely destroyed by fire at midnight. It was a beautiful home and was erected eighteen months ago to replace one previously destroyed by fire. The house was insured for £2-500 and the furniture for £I2OO. Owing to suspicious circumstances, the police are making enquiries. INVERCARGILL BLAZE. (PRESS ASSOCIATIOX TELEGSAit.) INVERCARGILL, November 16. A fire in Deacon's upstairs billiard saloon to-day completely gutted the top storey of the premises in Esk street. The stocks of a millinery shop and McNaughton's stationery store beneath were seriously damaged by a collapsing floor and by water. The damage is estimated at £4OOO.
