SWIMMING.
CANTERBURY CENTRE. The monthly meeting of the Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association was held in the Chamber of Commerce library last night. Present wore: Messrs M. E. Lyons (chair), L. Annand, F. J. Sinclair, C. R. Riordan. T. H. Harker \ Inkster, A. T. F. Stokes, L. Clarkson, A." H Jecks, (5. AV. Cooke, G. W Smith, S White" F. J. Cook, H. Rich, TV. S. Burford, and Mies D. Brown.
A donation of £5 was received from the Christchurch Ladies' Amateur Swimming Club towards the Centre's touring fund. Permission was granted the East Christchurch Club to hold a 50yds inter-club mixed race, and an inter-club dive handicap at the club's opening on December 10th. and to the United Club to hold the 100 yds ladies' championship, and the 220 yds intermediate bovs' championship.
. An application by the Somerfield Club to hold an inter-cluh carnival on March 3rd 1928, was granted. '
Accommodation arrangements were made for the Canterbury team representing the province in the Zealand championships at Dunedin.
