I ■ VERDICT OF NOT GUILTY. (pbis* isgaeUTioi tilssziu.) WANGANUI, November 16.. Alfred Barnes, a competitor in the cycle road race in August, was charged at the Supreme Court to-day with manslaughter,*' the charge arising from the death of an elderly woman, who j was knocked 'down during the race, j Mr Justice Ostler said there did not seem to be evidence of criminal negli- j gence, and the-jury found Barnes not 1 K"ilty.
