THE BIG WEEK.
GIVES FINE PICTURES. "WEEKLY PRESS" CAMERA STUDIES
Both those people who were tremendously busy at the show and the races last week and those who enjoyed few opportunities for outings will be keenly interested in the illustrations to be published to-morrow by the "Weekly Press." People's Day at the Show was a success from every point of view, including that of the photographers, who obtained, some remarkably fine views of the crowds as well as many striking pictures of prominent exhibits. At the racing and trotting gatherings also the cameras were kept hard at work to obtain snapshots of the many exciting contests, close-up portraits of cheerful racegoers ana views of winning horses. For those who desire an adequate camera record of Carnival Week the illustrations in the "Weekly Press" will prove entirely' satisfactory. But plenty of room has been found for other pictures illustrating current events. The terrible disaster which recently befel one of the Sydney harbour ferry boats is vividly portrayed, though without the slightest suggestion of gruesomeness. Another series of views from Sydney graphically depicts incidents in the cricket match between New South Wales and New Zealand, while the return of the New , Zealanders to Wellington is also illustrated Other pictures describe such various subjects as whippet racing at the Manawatu Show, motor-cycle racing at "Wanganui, the opening of a new bridge over the Mason river, in Amuri County, the laying of the foundation stone of a new church at Wellington, recent shipping mishaps, and so on. Camera studies from the Southern Lakes round off a number that will be found to be full of interest.
