GENERAL ASSEMBLY SESSION OPENS TO-MORROW. The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church will meet in Christchurch thi6 week, when the Moderator (the Rev. G. H. McNeur) will preside. The proceedings will open tomorrow evening and last for about a week. Following is the programme io be observed: Tuesday, November 15th. 7.30 p.m. —Devotional exerciser and sermon by retiring Moderator; Assembly constituted; roll produced; Moderator elected; inaugural address delivered; Standing Orders adopted; ministerial changes reported; sessional and other committees appointed; reports on arrangements and business. Wednesday, November 16th. 10 a.m.—Devotional exercises and Communion service; Life and Work report; records called for; statistics; Theological College. 7 p.m.—Training Institute report; foreign missions report. Thursday, November 17th.
10 a.m.—New ministerial members introduced'; treasurer's statement; finance statement j overture on separate accounts; temperance report; overture on Macarthy Trust grants. 2.30 p.m.— P.W.M.U. Conference tea. 7 p.m. —Bible-in-schools report; Protestant Principles report; Maori mission report; report ou home missionaries over 50 years.
Friday, November 18th; 10 a.m.—Public questions report; Board of Education; Knox College and Sustentation Fund reports; returns on women as office-bearers remit. 7 p.m.—Lord's Day services announced; Faith and Order report; home missions report; overture on I Home missionaries' status. Saturday, November 19th. 10 a.m. —Nomination of next Moderator; reports on fire insurance; New Century Fund; Beneficiary Fund, and Beneficiary Fund remit ; Women's Beneficiary Fund; overture on Beneficiary' Fund and report from Church Property Trustees; report on applications; New Hymnary report. Monday, November gist 10 a.m.—Publications, immigrants, P.S.S. Associations, and judicial reports; League of Nations Union • and Sabbath observance reports. 12 noon—Deputations received. 7 p.m.—Supply and appointments report; chaplains' report; Youth re- j port and overture on Youth Work Cabinet; returns on ministers ap- I plying for emeritus status. Tuesday, November 22nd. 10 a.m. —Early Church records and simpler creed reports; visitations report: Assembly clerk's report; * delegate to Church of Scotland Assembly; delegate to Finance Conference; memorial minutes; Standing Committee's report; close of Assembly. Additional Business. Applications for minister emeritus status: The Revs. L. Thompson, J. Ryley, and G. K. Aitken. Applications to be received: The Rev. W. Gilmour, 8.A., and the Rev., E. M. Finnis. Petition from the Rev. B. Hutson. Resignations: The Rev. Professor Camming. D.D., the Rev. H. H. Barton, Mi A., and Synod's report on the Rev. Professor -Hewitson's position. Bills and Business Committee. The above committee will meet at St. Paul's Church, Christchur'ch, on Tuesday, November 15th, at 3 o'clock.
