OBITUARY.
REV. WILLIAM LATCOCK,
The death occurred yesterday morning at his residence, Eiccarton, of the Rev. William Laycock. Mr Laycock was born in England 69 years ago, but had been in New Zealand for forty years, during all of that time being in the Methodist ministry. Until 1913 he was a pastor of the. Primitive Methodists, being stationed at different times at Westport, Auckland, Dunedin, and Invercargill. After the union in 1913 he was pastor at Woolston, later at Leeston, and then at Tai Tapu. He retired on superannuation three years ago, and took up his residence at Kiccarton. Mr Laycock was a great student and a splendid pastor, obtaining the respect and confidence of his people wherever he was stationed. After his retirement he devoted much of his time to work in connexion with tl Methodist Orphanage at Papanui. He leaves a widow and one daughter, Mrs G. A. Perry, the wife of the Mayor of Hokitika.
