The investigation of the police into the circumstances of the Babinda tragedy disclosed that the throats' of the mother and daughter were cut by a safety-razor blade, which was found on a bed. Mrs McLauren recently suffered from a nervous breakdown.
[An earlier message stated that a tragedy had been discovered at Babinda, near Cairns, where Mrs McLauren and her daughter, aged four, were found dead in bed at their home. The husband was absent from home.]
