A cable message from Sydney announces the result of the Armadaln Cup, of a mile and three furlongs, at the V.A.T.C. Meeting, as follows: Valwyne 7-10 1; Bunkie 8-13 2; Reputed King 7-5 3. There were twelve starters and Valwyne won by half a length in 2.19.

A first forfeit of one bov. for the 1928 Great Northern Trotting Derby falls due on Friday week. Lutine Bolls, the half-sister to Pedro Pronto, has been booked to visit Guy Parrish.

The Auckland Trotting Cup Handicap, to be ruu on December 27th, carries 2200 sovs in prize money, betides a gold cup valued at 100 guineas, second horse to receive 400 sovs, third 200 sovs and fourth 100 eovs. Although the race is open to horses that have done or have been handicapped to do 4.31 or better, competitors will be handicapped to do 4.28 or better. No race on the programme is worth less than 400 sovs.

For the position of caretaker of the Waikato Trotting Club's course at Claudelands, 100 applications were received. Mr H. Rouse, of Auckland, was appointed to the position. Messrs H. Matson and Co. will hold their annual sale of bloodstock at Tattersall's horse bazaar to-day, commencing at 9 a.m. Tho lots to bo offered include a number of well-known trotters and pacers.

Though not so strongly represented as on some previous occasions, there will still be a fair team of Canterbury horses engaged at the. Otahuhu Trotting Club's Spring Meeting which commences on Saturday, and the majority of those engaged are quite capable of winning races. A. Hendriksen will take his Cup horse, Cardinal Logan, and a very useful performer in Daytime; F. Hoimes's stable will be represented by Tom Thumb, Pointalena, and Royal Authoress; and R. B. Berry will take Jean McElwyn and 6ea Pearl. ' The last-named usually races well on the Auckland track, but in the big race on the first day she will hare her work cut out to give a start to Cardinal Logan, while Tom Thumb, who is in receipt of 48 yards from Sea Pearl, is better than he has vet shown himself to be in public. Jewel Pointer on 24 yards behind may bo expected to keep the elect of Canterbury doing its best. He is a good little pacer, endowed with a great burst of speed, and will see the two miles' jouruey out from end to end. The honours so far as the training of winners was concerned were well distributed at the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's Spring Meeting, for X. C. Price with Auguste Dillon iind Taurekareka. and J. J. Kennrrlev, who won a double with Native Chief, were the only trainers to lead in the winner of more than one race.

F. G. Holmes, who was associated with the successes of Native Chief and Daphne de Oro, drove the winners of three races, and D. Withers (Great Actress and Colene Pointer), J. McLennan (Elzear and Final McKmney), and V. Alborn (Cannonball and Golden Devon) were the only drivers to gain more than one success.

The Hambletonian Stake decided at Lexington, Kentucky, on September 27th, of which a cable message gave the bare result, was won by losola's Worthy in two straight heats, the first being run in 2.6 i and the second in 2.3J, smart going for three-year-old trotters.
