When one hears such a superb Tenor as Joseph Hislop all that is beautiful in Music is realised. Among the few really great Tenors of the prosent day, Hislop justly holds one of the most prominent places in the esteem of the public, for not only is he a brilliant Operatic artist, but he is equally great on the Concert Platform. Having these attributes, he in many respects surpasses all rivals. "His voice, mellow and resonant, risos without effort to the highest notes of the tenor's register, retaining always its beautiful quality, and its specially sympathetic timbre." —London "Daily Telegraph." JOB E P H JOSEPH HISLOP HISLOP HISLOP HISLOP HISLOP HISLOP HISLOP HISLOP HISLOP HISLOP The Favourite Tenor of the Presont Day. J. AND N. TAIT Announce with very great pleasure the approaching visit of JOSEPH HISLOP, whose prominence among the great artists in the musical world iB unquestionable, and who is now at the very zenith of his truly remarkable career. Almost for the first time in Musical History, a British-born tenor has won international fame. Only a great singer could achieve such success. Hislop has sung with wonderful success in the leading Opera Houses and Concert Halls of the World—in Italy, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, England, Ireland, and Scotland, the United States, and in South America. As a Concert Singer HISLOP is ideal, and it will be a great pleasure to hear songs sung as only he can sing them. Hislop will also sing grand operatic arias from such operaß as "Toaca," "Boheme," "Rigolotto," "Aida," "Madame Butterfly," etc. His programmes will be found to be wonderfully interesting. Mr Htslop's tour promises to be a musical event of the greatest importance. Mr Hislop will submit at his forthcoming concerts a series of programmes which for variety and musical interest will eclipse any Concert Recitals heretofore given by a vocalist In New Zealand.
