SCOTTISH CONCERT.
CALEDONIAN SOCIETY'S EFFORT. Scottish tastes in entertainment were veil satisfied last ' evening on the occasion of a gj-and Scottish concert under the auspices of the Canterbury Caledonian Society, which was held in the Caledonian Hall. The entertainment proved most popular, and was decidedly one. of the most successful provided for the holiday-making crowds last night. The hall was packed _to the doorE, and the audience lacked nothing in enthusiastic appreciation of the items presented. . Following was the programme:—Selection, Society's Pipe Band; song, Mr B. Eennell; swords, Miss Rita Peterson; vocal quartette, Messrs H. Blakeley, L. C. Quane, P. Angus, and J. Filer; song, Mrs Farquhar Young; Highland Fling, Miss Bessie Kearney; song, Mr Bracey Wilson; international reel, Misses Jean Staunton, Marjorie Sey, Dorothy Caldow, and Mavis Neate; Bong, Miss Dorothy Spiller; Seann Truibhais, Miss Marjorie Sey; song, Mr Farquhar Young; irish reel, Misses Emily Turner, Gracie Smith, Dorothy Timms, and Rita Peterson; concertina duet. Master Leo Gunther and Miss Frances Gunther; duct, Mr and Mrs Farquhar Young; reel o'Tulloch, Misseß Mavis Keate, Gracie Smith, Dorothy Timms, and Bessie Kearney.
