OTIRA EXCURSION.
♦ WALK TO BEALEY GLACIER. There were 325 passengers on the excursion train to Otira yesterday, tho weather experienced being warm and bright. About 270 of the passengers, including 62 Christ's College pupils, walked over the pass, while a party of twelve climbed to the Bealey Glacier. The walk to the glacier is said to be perfectly safe, though one and a half hours' hard going is required to reach it. Ice-sliding at the glacier promises to become popular with Otira excursionists.
