Sheldon Clark, a Chicago sportsman and an official in one of Sinclair's oil companies, has been formally charged with conspiring to tamper with the oil trial jury. The Government attorneys laid the charges after Clark refused to testify before the Grand Jury which was investigating the alleged jury-tampering complaint. Clark appeared voluntarily, waived the issue of a warrant, and demanded a hearing which is set down for later in the month. In the meantime he is relcasod on a bond for 10,000 dollars[Harry Sinclair, an oil magnate, and Albert Tall, former secretary of the Interior, are charged with conspiracy to defraud the Government in connexion with the lease of valuable oil reserves at Elk Hills and Teapot Dome. The litigation has been dragging on for years. Mr Justice Siddons declared a mis-trial recently on the ground that Sinclair had attempted to influence the jury.] .^__________
