According to the opinion of a' prominent Australian film producer, Mr Robert Dexter's views on "ugly Australians" is part of American propa-' ganda< intended to discourage people from investing money in Australian film ventures. [Giving evidence before the Film Commission Mr Robert Dexter, film editor and writer, said beauty was the merchandise of the motion-picture, and Australia was practically barren of beauty. Nature had made a wonderful job of the Continent, but as human beings Australians were an ugly race.]
