The streets about the Mansion House were crowded to welcome the new Lord Mayor. The customary procession was held, the most striking feature, being a model of Captain Cook's ship, the Endeavour, attended by a body of Australian bushmen, which was part of the Orient Company's car giving prominence to Australian shipping interests.
