ANNUAL DINNER.
HEADMASTERS' ASSOCIATION. The first annual dinner of the North Canterbury Headmasters' Association was held in the Cadena Tearooms last evening, Mr A. C. Maxwell presiding. The toast list was as follows: "Parliament," Mr J,. E. Purchase; "Education Board," Mr A. C. Maxwell: "The Inspectors," Mr J. G. Poison: "Thfe School Committees' Association," Mr L. B. Bradstock; "The N.Z.E.1.." Mr W. C. Colee; "The Mayor," Mr W. Balch; "The Ladies," Mr G. P. Allen; the "Press," Mr T. Gates.
Messrs T. Vernon Griffiths, K. TV. Morgan, C. Allard, and G. F. Allen contributed an enjoyable programme of musical numbers during the evening. Apologias were received, among others, from the Hon. Mr Wright, Minister for Education; Mr T. B. Strong, Director of Education: the Hon. Mr Buddo, and Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P.
