ARMY CRITICISM.

Strong criticism of the national mobilisation proposals during the war is contained in the report of the Army Committee, at present in the hands of the Senate. This declares that the scheme is almost unrealisable and dangerous from an international standpoint., weakening the moral fibre of the nation.
[ln March of this year the Military Reorganisation • Bill came before the French Chamber. The first article established the principle that every citizen, irrespective of age or sex, must serve in war time. This clause was later amended to declare that every citizen must serve, either as a combatant or a non-combatant.]
