FRIESIAN ASSOCIATION.
MEETING OF N.Z. COUNCIL,
The Council of the New Zealand Friesian Association met last night. Present were: Messrs Marchant (Cardiff) (chairman), E. C. Banks mata), T. R. Eades (Edendale), E. M. North (Oraimi), J. McAnulty (Winchmore), Jas. Hart (Patuanui), J. I. Royds (Christchurch), and Major R. A. Wilson (Bulls). Reference was made to the death of the late Mr Nekton King, of Taranaki, one of the earliest breeders of Friesians in New Zealaud, and to the death of the late Mr G. Jones, of Lowgnrth. Taranaki, votes of condolence to their relatives being carried in silence. The Fiji Live Stock Association wrote asking for recognition by the New Zealand Friesian Association. Action was deferred until Council members had fully considered the proposal. Seventy-three new members were elected, and 19 herd names were registered. Gratification was expressed at the growth of interest in the _ Friesiau breed throughout the Dominion as evidenced by the large influx of new members. It was resolved to vote £3 ife as prize-money for the herd group at the Nelson A. P. Show.
