ATTACK ON SOVIET CONSULATE.

WHITE RUSSIANS IN CHINA. (bt CABLE—PHISs association—coptbight.) (AUSTRALIA* AND *.l!. CABLJ ASSOCIATION.) SHANGHAI, November 7. An attack on the Soviet Consulate was made by 1000 male and female White Russians, who stormed the building, stripped it of red bunting, and forced an entrance. The Soviet Cosular staff used firearms to repel the attack, killing one, anr! wounding six. The police restored order and stood by throughout the night. The incident was marked by unusual scenes. Women, screaming and tearing the Soviet flags in their rage, climbed the outside wall, seeking fl" entrance by the windows. They hurled bricks at the windows, few of which remain unbroken.
