LYTTELTON NEWS.
Yesterday's Holiday. Most of the business places in port were closed vesterday afternoon for the New Zealand Trotting' Cup holiday. A few excursionists visited Lyttelton in the afternoon, most of them making their way to Corsair Bay. Diamond Harbour Launch Service. Lyttelton Ferry Launches, Ltd. have arranged for a special launch to leave, Lyttelton for Diamond Harbour to-morrow night on the arrival of the 9.15 train from Christchurch. . On Friday a frequent service will be run to Diamond Harbour, Corsair Bay, and Governor's Bay. On Sunday a regular service will cater for all trains. Harbour Light Theatre. "The Prince of Head Waiters," a drama starring Lewis Stone, and "M'Lord of the White Road," an English production, featuring Victor McLaglen, will be repeated at the Harbour Light Theatre to-night, together with a comedy and gazette. To-mor-row "Desert Gold," from the story by Zane Grey, with an all-star cast, will be screened. The supporting programme includes a comedy and newsreel.
