Three first ofTenders for drunkenness, one of them a woman, were each fined 10>, in default 24- hours' imprisonment. Charles Buchanan was fined 10s for drunkenness and XI, in default seven days-* imprisonment. for casting offensive matter. Donald Matheson, who was lined .!'.*> nn Monday for his 6Gth conviction for drunkenness, and consented to taking out a prohibition order, appeared again, haviusr been found liopeles>lv drunk on tho Tlicearton racecourse later the same day. Mr Batchclor said the man was an industrious fellow, living at-Oamarn, but occasionally had too much liquor when he came to Christchurch. Aroused was sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard labour.
