ROYAL SHOW.

PREPARATIONS WELL FORWARD. BIG DISPLAY OF IMPLEMENTS. On the Canterbury A. and P. Association's Show Grounds at Addington, there were signs of great activity yesterday in view of the Koyal Show tomorrow. Some tents had been erected, others were in the course of erection, and in almost every part of the grounds there were active preparations being made for the opening. Some of the Xorth Island stock has arived, and the remainder is due today. The grounds are looking well, and there is plenty of grassNear the band stand is being erected, and is almost finished, the "log cabin" or Swiss Chalet, of the Canterbury Branch of the New Zealand Forestry League. It is built entirely of New Zealand timbers, and with its walls ot' half logs, with the bark face outward it presents an interesting appearance. In the cattle pavilion an. improvement that will be greatly appreciated is the partitioning off of the stalls so that the animals cannot disturb each other.

There is every indication that the display of implements and machinerywill be one of the biggest witnessed for some years.

The side-show area was an exceptionally busy region yesterday, and judging by the number and size of the tents and marquee this feature of the showwill be well up to standard. To-morrow's Programme. To-morrow will be Judging Day, and the work of the judges will start at 9 a.m. with.implements and machinery, New Zealand manufactures, sheep, cattle, pigs, harness horses (except classes 255 and 287), draught horses, dairy produce, honey, etc., cured and preserved meats, wool, harness, cobs, and ponies. At 9.30 the judging of the sheep dogs will start; at 11.30, fresh butter, bread, and scones; and at 12 noon trotters and pacers.
