AEOLIAN CLUB.
SECOND CONCERT. The second concert of the Aeolian Club ""ill be held in the Choral Hall on Tuesday, November 15th. at 8 p.m. The club will introduce several new works to Christchurch music-lovers, among them being Schumann's theme and variations for two pianos. This interesting: work, which is seldtfm heard in public, will be played by Miss Olive Cooper and Hiss Eunice Tait. The first movement of the Tcliaikovski concerto in B Flat Minor will be played by Miss Bessie Pollard, with the orchestral accompaniment played by Mr Ernest Empson at a second piano. 'This concerto bristles with technical difficulties, the solo piano part being most exacting, but it has quickly won favour along with Beethoven's Emperor, Mozart's D Minor, and Grieg's Piano Concerto, all of which have been given at previous club recitals. The modern school will be represented bv works of Rachmaninov, Albenir, de Falla. and Ropartz. Miss Lillian H&nham will sing "Softly Sighs," the great aria from Weber's Oberon. The box plan opens at The Bristol morrow*.
