NORTH PARK ROAD.

RECONSTRUCTION POSTPONED.

The sum of £I9OO was provided on the current year's estimate! of the City Council for the reconstruction of North Park road, the maintenance costs of which for the pist few years have been extremely high. Dealing with this question in its report, the Water Supply and Works Committee advised the Council last evening:—As the road is a boundary one, the Riccarton Borough Council was approached with a view to arranging for payment of its share of the cost, and the Borough Council was nsked to receive a deputation with regard to the matter. A reply has been received to the effect that the Borough Council cannot see its way further to consider the matter until next financial year, and it is therefore impossible for any further action to be taken. The report was adopted.
