BROADCASTING PROGRAMMES.
TO THE EDITO3 OP THJ PBISS. gjj. —jtere has been a good deal of adverse criticism recently of the programmes submitted by the Ohristchuroh Broadcasting Company to its patrons, the greater part of which has certainly been well merited. In the -'Tiadio Record" dated October 21st. there wa; a prominent headline: "Christchurch Carnival Week to be Specially Featured. Special Preparations Made by 3YA." Last Saturday, Cup Day. was presumably to be the first of these special performances: but the evening performance v.as distinctly worse than usual, which is putting it very mildly! Ts it a fair, thing that subscribers should have foroed npon them long dissertations about the Olympia Exhibition and the outstanding merits of certain brands of cars? Very few persons who are listening-in are in the least interested. Then the long piano 6olos, though clever, were tedious in the extreme. 1 also protest strongly against the same singer performing three times in one evening, particularly when the songsi chosen "are lengthy. Twice is certainly enough to hear most of the talent sent out on the air by 3YA, Christchurch. In my opinion the redeeming features of the evening were the items given br the Broadcasting Trio.—Yours, etc., 'DISAPPOINTED.
