Child Endowment. Sydney, November o.—lnvestigations made by the Government show that industry will benefit to the extent of £3,200,000 through the non-collection of taxation for Child Endowment. Cabinet considers that industry will nowbe enabled to absorb a large percentage of unemployed.

Chaliapin's Divorce. Moscow. November 4.—Madame Chp.liapin did not object to the divorce brought by her husband, Feddor, or his offer of alimony at £6O a month for her lifetime.

Seaplane at Azores. Horta (Azores), November 4.—The seaplane D 1220 has arrived at the Azores from Lisbon. Cyclone in India. Delhi, November 4.—A severe cyclone north of Madras caused two trains to be blown off the line and wrecked. There were twenty deaths. Flight Endurance Becord. New Y'ork, November 4.—A message from Santa Monica, California, state* that Captain Kingsford Smith may attempt to shatter the world's flight endurance record. He hopes to keep the Southern Cross in the air for sixty hours, and may make the attempt as a test flight before beginning his Hawaiian trip.

Lord Cusjiendun. Rugby November 4.—The Rt. Hon. Ronald McNeil, Chancellor tof the l)uch.v of Lancaster, who has been raised to the Peerage, and who will speak for the Foreign Office in the House of Lords, will take the title of Lord Cushendun. ;

Commonwealth Shipping. Canberra, November s.—The Leader of the Opposition, Mr Charlton, has given notice of a motion of censure on the Government in connexion with the rumoured sale of the Commonwealth Shipping Line.
