AUSTRALIAN PURCHASES. (BT CABLE -PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPTRIOHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND K.Z. CABLI ASSOCIATION.) SYDNEY, November 5. Representatives of the Textiles Import Company of Moscow continue to buy wool largely in Sydney and other capital cities for Russia. Since the opening of the wool season in August they have purchased 27,000 bales valued at £BIO,OOO. They had previously purchased £500,000 worth. The company's buying staff in the Commonwealth numoers twenty-two, of whom only six are Russians and the rest Australians, including a number of specially-trained wool classers. In addition to buying, the company is largely interested in scouring greasy wool. It intends to extend its operations" to New Zealand, which it proposes to do at the start through some English buyers, with a resident representative to look after the business and the shipping of the wool to Europe.
