YACHTING.
On Saturday the Christchurch Sailing and Power-Boat Club conducted two races, one for a combined fleet from the A and B classes, and one for C class boats. There was a fresh, changeable, north-easter, and an, ebbing tide. The, course was the ■ usual tripodHea'thcote,' tripod-Avon one. Starters in the C class at 3.15 p.m. were. Alerte, 'Possum (scr), Fidget (ljmin), Kita, and Romany ' (7Jmin). Finishing times:— Fidget (Morrison), hep limin, 4hrs 20min 45sec, first; Alerte (Hampton), scr, 4hfrs 19 min 45sec, second; "PossUm (Trcelaven), scr. 4hrs 21min 20sec. third. The second and third placings were held over by the committee for further-consideration. _ A class boats were started at 3.-0 Gnzelle retting a good lead which she never fost A h"rd S face was fought among the others.
