FRUITGROWERS.
EXECUTIVE MEETING. A meeting of the Canterbury Fruitgrowers' Association was held on Saturday night, Mr E. Freeman (vice-president) occupying the chair. It wm decided that several Papanui orchard* be visited on November 26th, the members and wives to meet at the residence of the president (Mr F. Sieson). The chairman announced that a class from the W.E.A. • had vißited Papanui orchards on Saturday afternoon and he remarked that it wm pleasing to see that v a big number of women took an interest in the fruit-growing industry. It was very pleasing to growers to see that townfolk were interested in the orchards and in agricultural matters generally. Mr Davidson, whose orchard was visited, said that Ke felt that the W.E.A. students had enjoyed their outing. Mr A. L. Paynter, Government orchardiet, gave an sddress dealing with a recent visit to the Nelson district.
