"Proportion of reserve to liabilities is 28.20 per cent. Short loans are quoted at 3J per cent., three months' bills at 4'5-16 per cent.

CALCUTTA SALES. /' (Received November 4th, 7.43 p.m.) CALCUTTA, November 3. . At the tea. 6ales the quality continues to improve though the selection to-day includeda considerable proportion or plain liquoring teas. A confident tone prevailed except for plain medium assmas, which were irregular and easier. Common teas were very-firm and occasionally, dearer. All well-made leaf tea sold fully up to last.week's rate*. Dooars descriptions possessing an early autumnal character, met with' good competition at satisfactory prices. The commonest were irregular though without quotable change in bidding. Dußts were erratic and prices generally lower. A total of 38,247 packages were offered from the chief distriots of Assam and Dooara. The averago prices were: Common Pekoe Souchong, 13 annas 6 rupees to 12 annas 9 rupees; clean, common broken. Pekoe Souchong, 13 annas 3 rupees to 13 annas 6 rupees;- even Black Leaf Pekoe, 14 annas to 14 annas 6 rupees.
