Manoilescu had been concluded, it was possible to publish the proofs- which led to his arrest.

Letters and telegrams found in M. Manoilescu's possession gave tho whole plan of campaign to overthrow . the Dynasty and restore Prince Carol to the Throne. According to Manoilescu's diary, action began on July 18th. "It is clear," states tho diary, "that Prince- Carol desires to return, if possible, before his son Michael is proclaimed King. I think he is right." Mauoilescu was awaiting final instructions from Paris for the qamoaign, which was due to begin in November, lhe conspirators communicated in code, but the Government held proofs of tlio plot in Manoilescu's own hand.
