FROM THE THRONE. (bt r""--' —*uit'i.) N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.-) (Received November 4th, 10 p.m.) SYDNEY, November 4. The State Parliament was opened by the Governor-General with full ceremonial. In the Speech from the Throne he said that the Governmen intended to introduce measures providing for placing the administration of the City Council under a Commission pending the establishment of a Greater Sydney. Council, also for the purpose of dealing with certain recent appointments to the Public Service and certain amendments in the methods of financing the Family Endowment Scheme. • ■ A proposal would also he submitted for the amendment of the Industrial Arbitration Act and remodelling of the present Industrial Commission. Parliament then adjourned till Tuesday as a mark of sympathy with those connected with the harbour disaster.
