Dear Sirs,— "We have now done over 2000 miles in the ERSKINE—to be accurate 2230. "The first trip was done at a speed not exceeding 25 miles per hour on any part of the journey, to give the bearings a chance to run in. We came right through in the day and were surprised at the good time the entire journey was made in. This was due to the consistent running up hill and down. l "On our trips down to Christchurch and back recently, both done in the day, we averaged for the journey both ways 25 miles per hour. On some parts of the road we were running from 15 to 18 for safety. On good stretches up io 35. It is surprising that we maintained such a good average on what I considered to be a very carefully driven journey. This was due to the steady pull of the engine, comfortable springing, and a clinging to the road sensation. At no time was there any skidding movement. The steering was steady and easy. " Petrol consumption 27 miles|per gal. The oil indicator showed very little oil used. . ._ " I have driven on this trip many times and generally stayed the night in Kaikoura because of tiring. In the ERSKINE, I finished the 233 miles in the day quite good enough to feel that it will never be necessary again to make it a two-day run. The distance does not seem anything to talk about, but the run is a severe one owing to the sharp turns and twists, mostly on the hills. ' " The ERSKINE is an easy comfortable, car, efficient, fast, and economical. " The ERSKINE suits my peculiar ideas of what I want in a car. Ido not fancy big cars. The closed in body, free from squeaks and rattles, gives comfort, is warm when the winds are blowing off the snow, and when opened up, airy and cool, without draughts, Open cars will not be easy to sell soon. ' '* When we saw the ERSKINE in Sydney last May we decided to give you an order for one on our return to New Zealand and we have had no regrets." • Your sincerely, ' (Sighed) MARK STEEDS.
