ENGLISH PARK STADIUM.
* CYCLING CARNIVAL NEXT TUESDAY. Followers of the sport of cycling will be pleased to leavn that the dispute between the Christchurch Cycling Club and tho North Canterbury Centre of the N.Z. Athletic and Cycling Union has been 'settled, and nominations are coming in freely for the sports meeting to be held next Tuesday night at English Park Stadium. The chief events on tho programme are a one mile scratch race and a two miles cup wheel race. The nominations up to the present include Willie Mackie, the brilliant rider who secured championship honours in America, J. Henderson, the well-known Christchurch performer who raced last season in Australia, where he was very successful, Jack Bearman, J. R. I Anson, the ex-3tnateur, C. Bright, Leii Hill, and several other prominent sprinters Amongst the runners are the Dominion's best sprinters, M. A. Macdoanld, and Don HcLennan, the New Zealand champion. These runners, in company with other good -performers, will contest the 120 yds sprint George Getson, the best long distance runner in New Zealand, will be a competitor in the 880 yds handicap. As the nominations do not close until to-night, it is. anticipated that there will be a record entry for the meeting, and patrons are assured of an enjoyable and exhilarating night's sport in the open air.
