SHIPPING NOTES. The John is due to-morrow from Waikato to load here for Wellington, New Plymouth, and Wanganui. The Tremeadow is due this morning from Wellington to continue discharge of her .Now York cargo. She is expected to sail for Dunedin to-morrow. The Tongariro, from West of England ports, is due at Lyttelton on Sunday, yia Auckland and Wellington. The Kennedy, with, cattle, from Foxton, is expected to return here on Sunday. She will load the following day for Wellington and Foxton.

The Wairau is due on Sunday from Blenheim to load for Blenheim tho following day. The Kotiti will bo dispatched from Lytteltnn this morning for Akaroa. She is duo back to-morrow, and will leave on Sunday for Kaikoura.

The Progress, from Timaru. is due today to load" for Wellington, New Plymouth, and Waikato.

The Kekerangu, from Editliburp. Adelaide, and Dunedin, is expected at Lyttelton about November loth. The Waikawa, from Pacific Coast ports, is expected here via Papeete, Napier, Nelson, and New Plymouth, on November 26th. The Canadian Pioneer, from Montreal, is expected to arrive here on November 19th to discharge. The S.S. and A. Co. liner lonic, from Southampton; .via Wellington, is expected here on November 2fith. She will make a call at Wellington' to discharge a number of her passengers, and then come on to Lyttelton. The S.S. 3nd A. Co. liner Atlienic is due bere early in December to load. The Calm ioaded at Lyttelton yesterday for Wellington and Wauganui. She sailed for the north last evening, and it expected back about Tuesday next.

The Breeze, (mm Timr.ru, is to Inad tomorrow for Wellington and Wanganui. The Storm will load to-day for Wellington and Wanganui. The Totara will load on November 3th for New Plymouth..

The Cygnet should return from Wellington via kaikoura, on Sunday, and sail the following day for Kaikoura and Wellington. The Wingatui arrived last evening from Auckland, via Wellington. The vessel will be dispatched for Dunedin and Timaru today, and is expected to.return h«re to load for the north on Tuesday next.

The Opihi, from Dunedin, via Timaru, is due this morning to load for Wellington, Nelson, New Plymouth, and Westport. The Katoa, from Portland, via Wellington, should arrive to-morrow to discharge sheep and cement. On completion she will load general cargo for Auckland direct, and is expected to sail on Monday.

The Kami), from Auckland, is expected on Sunday with fruit transhipments ex Tofua. On Monday she will proceed to Dunedin with the balance of her fruit cargo. The intercolonial steamer Waikouaiti, from Newcastle, via Sydney, Bluff, and Dunedin, is expected at Lyttelton on November loth.

Mr 11. Abernethy is being appointed third •officer of the Ngatoro, relieving Mr T. Stevenson for holidays. Captain E. Evans has assumed command of the Oonah, relieving Captaiu A. T. Toten for holidays.

' Mr M. R. Tregale ha 6 joined the -Ngatoro as chief officer, vice Mr J. A. Pearson, who is on holiday leave. Mr T. W. White, chief officer of the Kaiwarra, has transferred to the Wingatui in a similar capacity. lie has relieved Mr 11. C. White, who has been appointed assistant harbourmaster for tho port of Timaru, The Canadian Challenger, which left Auckland on September 30th for Now York, Boston, and Montreal, is reported to have arrived at Panama on October 28th, and sailed again the next day in continuation of hor voyage.

The Kia Ora has been delayed by rain 3t New Plymouth, and will not arrive at Wellington until to-morrow morning. She will Fail again on Tuesday to comitate loading at Auckland, and the date of her final departure for Halifax and Home ports is now set at November 15th.
