BENEFIT CONCERT.

MUSICAL POT-POURRI. Sketches, solo and company dances, legerdemain, song and dance numbers, and, iu fact, the whole gamut of the vaudeville art was traversed by the Chri3tchurch Amateur Operatic Society's concert party in an excellent programme presented to a large audience in the Caledonian Hall last night in aid of the funds of the Returned Soldiers' Association.

The programme was as follows:—Overture, "Light Cavalry," the orchestra; opening chorus, the company; "The Last Call" (Sanderson), Edna Donaldson; sketch, "Hew Ike Von the Var," H. Instone; dance acrobatic, Dallas Henley; sketch, Alan Brown; "For My Sweetheart," Fred Hale and "The Sweethearts"; "The Tea Shop," the company; "Quarrelling Duet," Madge Wilson and "Wyn Cowlishaw; dance artistique, Phyllis Williams; "Love's Cigarette," Claris Shaw; "Clerks' Chorus," ''The Boys"; legerdemain, J. Xevil Cohen; "Fishing," Wyn Cowlishaw and the company; Spanish ballet, Billie Stevens, Mavis McLean, Mary Jackson, Honor Ledsham, Louise Fleming; "Three Little Maids," Constance Henderson and Bene and Edna Pedder; sketch, "Courting Betty Eglington," H. Instone; "There's a Quaker Down in Quaker Town," Pessy Hollander; "Dancing Time," Fred Hale and the Dancing Five; "Pretty Maiden," Octette; "Gifts of the Gods" (Rosse), Edna Donaldson; "Winter Time," Constance Henderson and Fred Hale and the Pelting Eight; sketch, "All Blacks," Alan Brown, Wyn Cowlishaw, and J. JTevil Cohen; "Any Girl from Anywhere," Fred Hale and "The Girls"; finale, the company. The pot-pourri was produced by Agnes Richardson and Alan W. Brown, the musical directress was Claris Shaw, accompanist, Kathleen Doherty; stage manager, G. L. Donaldson; and production under the baton of Mr R. Woolcock.

A very efficient orchestra, under the direction of Claris Shaw, assisted materially, in special, accompanying, and incidental numbers.
