NURSERYMEN.
1 , CANTERBURY COUNCIL. The 13th annual, meeting of the Canterbury Council of the Nurserymen's Association was held yesterday, Mr W. . Edgintonpresiding. A letter was received from Mr T. 'Wangh, Dominion, president, arcing that the spirit of co-operation which had been so beneficial in the paßt be continuod. He regretted his inability to be present on account of. the serious illness of hit son. On the.motion of the chairman, a rote of sympathy was passed to Mr Waugh. ' The secretary, Mr S. G. Smith, read the annual report, which waa adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows: Chairman, Mr W. Edginton; vice-chair-men, M«S6« W. h. Grant, A. H. Shrubshall, J. M. McLeod, and Olif Gibbons; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr Sydney G. Smith; hon. auditor, Mr A. H. Shrubshall; executive committee, Messrs T. D. tannic, J. M. Robinson, T. Barter, E. Taylor, W. Bailey, G. J. McDonald, and G. A. Clark. It was decided to nominate Mr Thos.. Waugh, of Wellington, as Dominion president for 1038. , • ••-.■•.■ For 1 the position of South Island vice-pre-sident, Mr W. Edginton was nominated.
