TRUSTEES CAN APPLY FOR- THEM -Ever since the big Christchurch Drainage Board Debenture Loan closed several months ago, applications for debentures have been steadily coming inland having to be refused, much to the disappointment of the applicants. It is therefore very good news to know that the Board is now issuing debentures for an extension of the loan. As the amount involved is comparativelysmall, it will be very quickly subscribe ed, and therefore early application, is recommended. Debentures will be issued in denom- 1 inations' of £IOO, '£soo, or £IOOO, at the option of the purchaser, and on these, £o 10s per cent. p.a. interest will be paid free of exchange at any branch of the "Bank of New Zealand within the Dominion. Exchange will, moreover be paid by the Board on alt accepted application money. The Debentures and interest thereon are secured by a special rate of 9-64 d in the £ on the Capital Value of an area valued at £8,370,286, comprising a very large area of the City of Christchurch. The date of maturity is September 30th, 1973 As showing the gilt-edged nature of the investment, it might be mentioned that all debentures issued by the Christchurch Drainage Board are declared a Trustee investment within the meaning of the Trustee Act, 1908.
