DISPUTE BREWING. (pbzss assocutiok nusuK.) GBEYMOUTH, Novemfcer 2. The State Miners' Union, at a meeting to-night, resolved not to draw for places in the Middle Brake State Colliery, Bewanui, owing to the management insisting upon extracting the pillars in the Anderson seam not far from the entrance. The men claim that this increases the danger of gas accumulating, and that the Minister for Mines has acknowledged to a deputation that gas would accumulate in such circumstances. The Union is therefore communicating with the Minister'with a request that he aet for the safety of all concerned.
