INDECENT ASSAULT.

T'EN YEARS' IMPRISONMENT. (mess association -telegram.) ' WELLINGTON, November 2. Gnstave Victor Hill, found guilty last week on four charges of indecent assault on boys and two other charges of an indecent nature, was to-day sentenced by Mr Justico Macgregorto fivo years' hard labour on the first charges, and ten years' hard labour oil the .'second charge, the sentences to be concurrent. The Crown Prosecutor said that Hill had been convicted of similar offences in Queensland and received five years' imprisonment. The conviction was quashed .owing to .a mistake of. the presiding judge at the trial. He was charged with other offences i'n Queensland in.regard to boys, but the Magistrate, dismissed the informations because two of the witnesses disappeared. •Hill arrived in New Zealand about theend of May, and there was no doubt that he was a very'serious menace. The Judge said that all the offences were committed within a few • weeks. The prisoner said that he was not' Riiilty. but his Honour entirely agreed with the verdict of the jury. Undouln tedly it appeared that prisoner was a sexual pervert of a. very dangerous character, particularly to young boys. It was quite out of the question that he should Im> nt liberty. J
