HECORD ENTRIES FOR CANTERBURY FIXTURE. i Final figures relating to the entries for the Royal Show, to be held on the Addington Show Grounds, beginning on the 9th inst, indicate that the total entries constitute a record as compared with the first Royal Show held in Canterbury in 1925. Comment has been made already on the fact that the entries of pigs are a record for any ahow ever held at Addington. The revised figures demonstrate that the sheep entries are a record, and exceed in number the entries in the sheep classes at any show held on the Addington grounds. NATIONAL INSURANCE CO. [THE PEESS Special Service.] DUNEDIN, November 1. An extraordinary general meeting of shareholder* in the National Insurance Company wa* hold this afternoon to consider a number of resolutions dealing with the subdivision of the present £s' shares into shares of £1 each. Mr John Moloney, chairman •f(directors, presided. The following resolutions were submitted:— (1) That each of the existing £5 shareß be divided into five shares of £1 each, and that vpon each of the issued shares, which after •nbdiviaion will number 1,000,000, thei sum •f' 6s shall be credited up. 1(2) That tho articles of/ association bo altered in the manner following:—(a) The following article to be substituted for Article • : (6) "The total number of shares which may be registered in the branch registers •hall not exceed 500,000, namely, a maximum «2 250,000 in London and 250,000 in the •aid Commonwealth of Australia." (b) In Article 17 the figures "15,000" shall be ■nbstituted for the figures "3000." (c) In Articles 90 and 93 respectively tho words "two thousand five ihundred" shall be substituted for.tho words "fivo hundred." The chairman said that a circular had keen forwarded to each shareholder with the notice calling the meeting. It stated, inter alia: "Tour directors, after the fullest cou•iteration, have decided to recommend to shareholders the subdivision of the present £5 •hares into shares of £1 each, with a view 'to facilitating a wider distribution among tli« pnbllc of the Dominion. Your directors fatl that the step contemplated be in the best interests of the company, as the prmnt market price of the shares precludes ■any persons from interesting themselves in tUa successful Dominion enterprise."
